Sell a business

Sell once. Sell it properly.

Most owners sell one business in their lifetime. We handle the process end to end so the value you built over decades isn't lost in a rushed six-week negotiation.

What we handle

  • Recasting financials so add-backs and owner expenses are properly credited
  • Pricing strategy and deal structure — asset vs. share sale, earn-outs, vendor take-backs
  • A confidential buyer search across strategic buyers, private equity and qualified individuals
  • Diligence management, lender coordination and closing support alongside your accountant and lawyer
The process

Four stages, no surprises.

01

Valuation & readiness

We normalize the financials, benchmark against recent GTA transactions and give you a defensible range before anything goes to market.

02

Confidential marketing

A blind profile and information memorandum go to a vetted buyer list. Staff, customers and suppliers hear nothing until you decide.

03

Buyer qualification

Every interested party signs an NDA and proves funding before they see a number that matters.

04

Negotiation & close

We manage offers, diligence requests, lender questions and the lawyers so the deal keeps moving.

Retirement & succession

Ready to retire?

You have put years into building this. As you look toward retirement, the sale should not be overwhelming or uncertain. We help owners across Ontario move through the process with confidence and transition on their own terms.

  • Succession planning to structure a clear exit strategy
  • Targeted buyer search and screening to find the right match
  • Financial guidance to secure post-sale stability
  • Full transaction support from valuation through closing
Positioning the sale

Toronto has its own dynamics.

Selling in the GTA comes with its own challenges and opportunities. It matters that your advisor understands the marketplace, how to position the business and how to create genuine demand rather than waiting for one interested party to appear.

We partner with owners to minimise stress and maximise value — accurate valuation, guidance on current market conditions, targeted marketing to attract the right buyers and negotiation to secure the right deal, from listing to closing.

Common questions

How do I sell my business in Toronto?

Where does the process start?

With a valuation and a readiness review. Before anything is marketed, you should know the realistic range, what a buyer will question and what can be fixed in the meantime.

How long does a sale take?

Most well-prepared Ontario businesses take six to twelve months from engagement to closing. Preparation shortens it; incomplete financial records lengthen it.

Will my staff and customers find out?

Not from us. Marketing runs on a blind profile, every buyer signs an NDA and is qualified for funds before detail is released, and disclosure happens on your timeline.

What size of business do you work with?

Everything from Main Street operators under $1 million to mid-market companies well above it. Sell-side engagements work best around a bottom line of $600,000+ a year, but the first conversation is free either way.

What does it cost?

Fees are agreed up front and are largely success-based. You will know the structure before you sign anything.

Can you help before I'm ready?

Yes. Many owners engage us two to five years out so the books, systems and key-person risk are dealt with well before the business goes to market.
